This wedding definitely goes down as my favorite wedding to date! It was just one of those events where everything clicked. Teresa & I had met at Biggby and discussed her relationship with her fiance and their wedding plans. I asked all of my typical questions getting to know my potential client to see if we’re a right fit. Eventually I found out that Teresa found me on the Handmade Toledo website. Handmade Toledo puts on these two awesome indie craft fairs every year. One of my friends happens to be responsible for the gem of a craft fair and I was asked to take photos at the one on April 19th (4-19 day!). In return, I got a little love on their website (in the way of having a logo and link to my own page). Teresa said she loved my logo (which represents me well, my husband designed it) & loved the craft fair & loved my work that she had seen on-line. She also looked my personal page up on Facebook (no shame, I keep some things public for that reason) and she saw that we had two mutual friends….two very awesome mutual friends! After we figured that out we couldn’t stop talking. The usual one hour meeting I would have with potential clients turned in to an 1 1/2 hour meeting with her. That’s kind of what I’m about though. I love connecting with people…and I love talking!
After that meeting, time flew. When I showed up at the Mon Ami Winery it felt like we had just seen each other….like when you haven’t seen an old friend for years but then you get together and don’t skip a beat! It was just like that.
We ironed out all of the plans for the day (it was a short low key ceremony with a very simple timeline). Everything was pretty laid back. Teresa & Steve had asked if I could start a point and shoot camera to record the ceremony for family members who were back in Australia (where Steve’s family lived). Yeah, we can do that. So, while doing some test shots, I found a great spot to hide my extra tripod and set their camera up. We had some time to spare so I snapped a few shots of the bride getting ready & the some details from the decorator: Downtown Deco.
That’s how I spent my 4th of July…..photographing this beautiful wedding for beautiful people.
